Photoshop Days

When I uploaded this picture into photoshop, it was to books with the pages folded into hearts in black and white. It seemed so simple. However, I felt that the picture was poorly represented and it needed color. Hearts make me think of blues and pinks and happiness and laughs and living and loving. Corny as it may sound, it's what i think. So I did just that, I turned the black page hearts into a pink heart and a blue heart. I added the two words that people often overuse; live and laugh. And under the spine of the top book, I put my whole name. It seemed to fit.

As for the daisy, you have probably seen the original before, many times. A white daisy swallowed by the surrounding green scene. I took a simple thing and added an array of colors. I rotated between the colors of the well recognized rainbow; Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. I believe that adding these colors to this flower made it indiviualistic and maybe even more optically appealing.

And I saved the best for last. This piece is hard to explain. To understand the approach i took on this though, you have to understand one thing about me; Music is my life. I thrive off of the strings of notes as they float into my head. And as they swirl around inside my mind, I become aware of myself, of who I am and who I want to be. So this piece is by far my favorite. I started a picture of a trble clef resting on a sheet of music. This photograph was in black and white. I then took another photo of different music, also in black and white and cut it out in the shape of a heart. I made this music note heart almost transparent and added it to the original treble clef photo. However, adding this layer seemed to elimate some of the previous beauty and signifigance of the trebel clef. With that relization, I decided to add the color red. Red is a vibrant color that highlights the importance in many things and is very noticeable. I took this color and traced over the outline of the treble clef. When finished with that, I took a step back, and realized it was done.
That is the thing about editing photographs; you can add anything you want to it, but it is never you to decide when it is finsihed. The photo speaks to you and tells you when it is finsihed and when it is how it should look.
